Certificate Program in Theft and Shoplifting Prevention
This training delivers deeper insight into why people shoplift and commit acts of theft. By completing this training one will be able to effectively provide psycho-education groups with offenders who have committed crimes of theft, shoplifting, burglary, check fraud, employee theft, identity theft, and embezzlement.
Learning Objectives:
Provide effective assessment and/or treatments to theft offenders.
Recognize the co-occurring disorders associated with shoplifting and theft.
Identify high-risk situations that trigger the impulse to steal and develop strategies for overcoming them.
Address underlining issues such as grief, loss, depression, anger, self-esteem, anxiety etc.
Revise career plans and develop strategies to improve financial problem.
Assist judges, probation, and parole officers deter theft and shoplifting behavior.
